Bham Adventure

So it's another day in a quiet house. Feeling spry for some reason led me to sweeping out almost half the garage. I've never seen so much kitty litter! Blech. I have no idea what could possibly convince me to doing this. Maybe I'm just growing up; which only makes one of us. Reilly says he's all done growing. Which as a mommy, I'm not arguing with. As a parent that faces the possibility of having a toddler forever....its up for debate; I love my son of course, but I won't be too disappointed should he keep having birthdays. :)

Our latest adventure consisted of driving to Birmingham for a multitude of activities. The first of which included waiting 45 minutes for a friend of mine at Olive Garden just 5 minutes from Granny's house. After that wait I decided to go ahead and eat. And from now on, I'll stay away from Olive Garden lest it be paid for me. One kids meal, just the salad, and a tiramisu to go...add the tax and tip and you've got a grand ole total of $20!!! What's that line from Aristocats? "This is outrageous, crazy!" It blows my mind that after I try so hard not to spend money on lunch, I end up with that. Reilly barely ate the "max and cheese" he wanted, I got down half the salad bowl, of course we eat the breadsticks. Sacrilege if you don't! After a not so toddler happy lunch we make the teeny trek over to Granny's house. And after only an hour or so the perfume is giving me its notorious painful headache and we head to the hotel (a post in itself). After a few hours we follow Pop and Gigi over to Chelsea for a wedding for a friend who I am pleased to say has found a wonderful husband. Blessings to you, Joy and Jeffrey.

The next day we traveled around the Birmingham Zoo! Reilly had a great time despite his impression of being in a sauna all day and managing one boo boo on a knee.
And no trip is complete, without a Pete's Famous Hot Dog, mmmm. So for your visual pleasure, a couple of pictures of our Birmingham Adventure!
