About Us

Our family consists of five wonderful people;  but you will only meet three.  David, nearing the big 30 this year, is currently working at a geospatial software company.  When he's not spending time with the rest of us, you'll find him downing some major "boss" somewhere in the World of Warcraft.  Me?  I've got a certificate in Interior Decorating and manage my freelance blog Sugar Bluff House.  I spend most of my time at home with our son and not so secretly plotting every decorative detail of our home (Mission Guest Room: Complete).  We are both very active in our church Good Shepherd UMC; I lead a small group by the name of "Live Laugh Love" and direct, if you will, the Funeral Hospitality Team.  We both enjoy a weekly Bible Study and also take ACE classes whenever they are offered.  Reilly is now 3 and can be described by one word....train.  Reilly is purely twitter-pated with trains and all that go with them.  It has become tradition to watch the Elephants unload from the train when Ringling Brothers B&B circus comes to town.  If you ask him the best part of the circus?  He'll tell you two things: the elephants, and the train.

In 2009 David and I began working on expanding our family.  Two kids sounds reasonable right?  You'd think so.  Two miscarriages and twin premature deliveries/deaths later and in a sense all we have left is the one child.  But I can't keep myself down for long.  Reilly has a way of lightening any bad situation.  Hearing random "I love you's is a very common thing.  Fuss at him for not listening; he'll claim he was giving you a kiss...and he'll give it too.  He reminds us every day what a blessing we already had.  So though you'll only meet three Nixons in Madison, know there are two more looking down above you.   Bennett and Matthew were born October 27, 2010 and both passed early in November 2010.  They are our angels.
